Presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, on the eve of Easter, Saturday, March 30th, the Easter Vigil service (Jrakaluyts) took place during the Divine Liturgy, conducted by the Cathedral’s grand sacristan, HE Arch. Gomidas Ohanian.
At the conclusion of the service, the grand sacristan lit a candle from the altar and presented it to the Catholicos, who then passed it along to the faithful while reciting the Resurrection Hymn along with the Cilician Brotherhood and the choir. Subsequently, the pontifical procession, led by the Catholicos, proceeded to the atrium of the Catholicosate, where His Holiness conducted the Blessing of the Home service (Dnorehnek).
Finally, His Holiness shared the joyful news of Christ’s Resurrection with the people, proclaiming, “Christ is risen! Blessed is the resurrection of Christ.”
