The Armenian Sanatorium of Azounieh

The Armenian Sanatorium of Azounieh is a non-profit establishment and the only Tuberculosis center in Lebanon. The Sanatorium extends its health services to all in need of health care without religious or ethnic discrimination.

Financed through donations and assistance from the Armenian American Medical Philanthropic Fund of New York, it is owned by the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia and the Union of Near East Armenian Evangelical Churches.

The sanatorium is located on the Beirut-Damascus international highway, near the village of Azounieh, 1200 meters above sea level. Its complex consists of 8 buildings and a hospital with a medical body of 70 doctors and nurses.

In 2012, a large common room-hall was added to the complex, where different social and cultural events are organized for the residents.

The Sanatorium is directed by its director Dikran Boyadjian.

A Board of Trustees administers the Sanatorium and it is consisted of: Talin Kulbashian, Nerses Baghdoyan, Missak Nersessian, Krikor Geukjian, Sarkis Parmaksezian, Dr. Sossi Poladian, Maria Bakkalian and Garo Kadian.
