Celebrating the Holy Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ at the Catholicosate of Cilicia

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I presided over and conducted the Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning, March 31st, 2024, to celebrate the Feast of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral at the Catholicosate of Cilicia in Antelias.

During his homily, His Holiness referenced John 16:33, emphasizing Christ’s victory over evil, sin, and death through His resurrection, urging the faithful to draw strength from this triumph in confronting today’s challenges.

Addressing the enduring challenges faced by the Armenian people, His Holiness reminded the faithful of their resilience and faith during adversity, affirming the Armenian Church’s commitment to supporting its people and defending their rights and homeland. His Holiness also addressed regional issues, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people’s just cause and calling for an immediate cessation of the Gaza war, alongside stressing the urgency of Lebanon’s presidential election.

Following the liturgy, His Holiness led the procession to the atrium, where he joyously declared, “Christ is risen! Blessed is the resurrection of Christ.” Subsequently, His Holiness received Easter greetings at the atrium.
