HIS HOLINESS CATHOLICOS ARAM I PAYS A VISIT TO THE GENERAL CONSULATE OF LEBANON IN DUBAI

On Monday, January 29th, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I visited the General Consulate of Lebanon in Dubai, where Consul General Assaf Doumit and the consulate staff warmly welcomed him.

 

In attendance were the Prelate of the UAE and Qatar, HG Bp. Mesrob Sarkissian, diocesan clergy, Co-chair of the Catholicosate Central Council, Krikor Mahseredjian, Chair of the Armenian Representative Assembly, Varoujan Nerguizian, Chair of the Diocesan Executive Council Jiryar Habibyan and members from the Armenian Representative Assembly and Executive Council.

 

Consul Doumit warmly welcomed His Holiness’s visit, emphasizing that it represents a tangible expression of Lebanon’s solidarity and will significantly contribute to the further development of the relationship between the UAE and Lebanon. He noted that the Lebanese who have relocated to the United Arab Emirates actively engage in the country’s development and make valuable contributions to Lebanon’s socio-economic needs.

 

His Holiness, in response, conveyed his joy at being in the Lebanese consulate and at the commitment of the consulate to supporting the needs of the Lebanese community in Dubai. He commended the consulate’s activities and expressed appreciation for their efforts.

 

Subsequently, a reception took place, and after the meeting, His Holiness had the opportunity to become acquainted with the various departments of the consulate.

 

Later in the day, the Catholicos received Armenian benefactors and the chairs of the diocesan bodies.
