HIS HOLINESS CATHOLICOS ARAM I BLESSED THE GIRLS PARTICIPATING IN THE CEREMONY OF THE TEN VIRGINS

On Tuesday, March 30th, 2021, Holy Tuesday service commemorating the parable of the Ten Virgins was held at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias.

During the ceremony, ten young students from the Antelias Sunday School were holding lanterns and stood in front of the alter. Five of them kept their lanterns lit, representing the “wise” virgins, while the other five had to extinguish their lanterns and represented the “foolish” virgins. The parable symbolizes the second coming of the Christ and reminds Christians the necessity to always be ready for that day.

Following the service, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received the students gave them his blessing.
