The Opening of Portals ceremony was held on Sunday evening, March 28^th, 2021, at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias, presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I.

This ceremony is unique to the Armenian Church and depicts the second coming of Christ and the final judgement.

Bishop Magar Ashkarian delivered the sermon, underlining the necessity of purification and salvation. He stressed that the Church, being concerned about the salvation of her children, invites them to self-knowledge and self reflection, so that they can repent and accept Christ’s salvation.
