On December 29th, 2023, the Lebanese Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran jointly organized a conference titled “The Tear of the Holy Virgin Mary – Tragedies of Gaza.” The event, dedicated to Gaza, featured the participation of Jamileh Alamolhoda, the wife of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and a lecturer in Islamic ethics at the University of Tehran. She attended the event in response to an exclusive invitation extended by the Ministry of Culture of Lebanon.
Throughout the conference, speakers, including clergy from both Lebanon and other regions, addressed the audience. The discussions primarily focused on condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza, and there was a unanimous call for a united stance against such atrocities.
With the blessing of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, V. Rev. Fr. Sarkis Aprahamian, the director of the Middle Eastern section of the Ecumenical Department of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, attended the conference.
