His Holiness Catholicos Aram I visited the Armenian Sanitorium of Azounieh on the morning of Monday, December 18th, 2023, for a Christmas visit. Accompanied by a delegation from the Cilician brotherhood, the Catholicos intended to observe the Christmas and New Year celebrations, offer his pontifical blessings and stay abreast of the sanitorium’s latest developments.

Warmly welcomed by the sanitorium’s director, Dadjad Srabian, as well as Hagop Ladoyan, the head of the Board of Trustees, and other board members, His Holiness conveyed his joy at revisiting the sanitorium, particularly in the aftermath of the crisis years in Lebanon. In his address, he emphasized the crucial role the sanitorium plays in the community and assured that its mission would persist despite any challenges. The Catholicos concluded by extending Christmas greetings to the residents, as well as the management, board members, and medical staff, acknowledging their dedicated efforts to ensure the well-being of the elderly.

Following the visit, His Holiness met with the management and took the opportunity to visit the sanitorium’s chapel. On this occasion, he reiterated the full cooperation and support of the Holy See of Cilicia for the Armenian Sanitorium of Azounieh.
