THE ARMENIAN CHURCH, HOLY SEE OF CILICIA PARTICIPATED IN THE “SEASON OF CREATION” EVENTS

Since 2021, the “Season of Creation,” a dedicated period for renewing our relationship with the Creator and all creation, has been celebrated internationally from September 1st to October 4th. The season of Creation is a time to unite with the ecumenical family around the world in prayer and action for the well-being of our common home. For this purpose, The Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) organizes lectures and ecumenical prayer gatherings in the region.

On Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, an Ecumenical Prayer Service was held at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, and on Thursday, October 5th, 2023, a symposium entitled “Ecumenical Perspectives on Climate Change” was held at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut.

With the blessing of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, four young Cilician clergy members, namely V. Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian—Dean of the Armenian Theological Seminary, V. Rev. Fr. Avedik Der Garabedian—Assistant to the Dean, V. Rev. Sarkis Aprahamian—Director of the Middle East and Christian-Muslim Dialogue section of the Ecumenical Department, and V. Rev. Kevork Karageozian— Assistant to the Dean, participated in the events. It is noteworthy that during the “Climate Change and Nature” session, Fr.
