Under the auspices of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was solemnly celebrated at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias and St. Mary Monastery in Bikfaya, on Sunday, August 13th, 2023.
HE Archbishop Gomidas Ohanian celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Antelias, conducted the blessing of the grapes ceremony, and delivered the message of the feast.
In his sermon, Archbishop Gomidas exalted the virtues of St. Mary and encouraged the faithful to ask for her intercession as they prayed. He also elaborated on the meaning of the blessing of the grapes ceremony in the Armenian church tradition.
