On Thursday morning, January 12^th, 2023, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received Archbishop Paolo Borgia, the recently appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon.

This was the first meeting of the Apostolic Nuncio with His Holiness, hence the Catholicos offered a brief account on the history of the Holy See of Cilicia, its ecumenical and interreligious relations, and on the current state of Armenians in Lebanon.

During the meeting, they also discussed matters pertaining to the Lebanese presidential election, and Artsakh; His Holiness expressed his appreciation regarding the Vatican’s support and solidarity.

Archbishop Borgia extended a letter from Pope Francis to His Holiness.
