Over the past six months, the health services fund created by Mr. and Mrs. Alecco and Ani Bezikian, under the auspices of the Catholicosate, has operated in two phases. Each phase lasted three months, three days a week, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On a weekly basis, the amount of aid has been determined through meetings with Mr. and Mrs. Alecco and Ani Bezikian.

 

During the first three months, we provided assistance in running diagnostic tests and managing serious hospital cases.

 

We also contributed to services provided by Karagheusian Primary Health Care Center and Saint Marc Medical and Diagnostic Center.

 

In the first trimester, we received 1360 aid requests of which 1123 were fulfilled.

 

In the second trimester, we only focused on serious hospital cases, such as cancer and complicated kidney surgeries. In this quarter, we received 640 requests of which 382 were fulfilled.

 

As a reminder, we had made a principled decision to assist only in the cost of treatment and planned operations, rather than contributing to expenses incurred thus far.

 

Under the current circumstances of socio-economic crisis, the aid provided through the donations of Mr. and Mrs. Alecco and Ani Bezikian and the patronage of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I has greatly alleviated the mental, moral and, in particular, the financial burden of the people.
