A group of Armenian physicians from Fresno, who have arrived at Lebanon on a special mission and will be assisting the medical needs of the Armenian community, visited His Holiness Aram I on Sunday morning, March 6th, 2022, headed by Fresno’s Honorary Consul of Armenia Berj Apkarian and led by Dr. Elie Tashjian.

His Holiness warmly greeted the guests and commended their initiative. He also offered a brief insight into the social services provided by the Catholicosate in the recent years to the Armenian community in Syria and Lebanon, and seized the occasion to emphasize that the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia has been, is and will always be with the people and for the people.

In turn, Dr. Elie Tashjian and Berj Apkarian briefed His Holiness on the objective of their mission and their itinerary in Lebanon for the week. They stated that this incentive was a response to His Holiness Aram I’s call on the occasion of proclaiming 2022 “The Year of the Armenian Diaspora.”
