On Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received Dr. Joanna Wronecka, representative of the UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres, who extended a letter from Guterres to His Holiness.

In the letter, the UN Secretary General conveys his appreciation for His Holiness’ efforts in regard to resolving Lebanon’s crisis, his significant contribution in the inter-sectarian dialogue, and his considerable input during the meeting of Guterres with the heads of the six major Christian and Muslim communities of Lebanon in December 2021.

The Catholicos expressed his gratitude, and seized the opportunity to give an overview of the current challenges in Lebanon, where he underlined the importance of holding the upcoming parliamentary elections, seeking solutions to the financial crisis in cooperation with the World Bank and international finance organizations, and providing for the people.
