THE FEAST OF THE HOLY RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AT THE CATHOLICOSATE OF CILICIA

Jesus Christ tells us “Do not fear, for I am with you.”

On Sunday, April 12th, 2020, at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias, His Holiness Aram I celebrated the Divine Liturgy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and delivered his sermon, where he exhorted the faithful, who were in quarantine during this Covid-19 pandemic and were following the Liturgy via the social media of the Catholicosate, that Jesus tells us “Do not fear, for I am with you.”

The Catholicos raised his prayers to God and pleaded Him to invigorate His children with the mighty faith of the resurrection and help them overcome the difficulties of today’s world. Recounting the story of the Great Commission, where Christ appeared to His eleven disciples in Galilee before sending them to their missions, the Catholicos stated that Christ has always been and will continue to be with us in all times. His Holiness underlined that the Armenian History is a vivid example of this message, because every time death had approached the Armenian nation, their unwavering faith in Christ brought them out on the other side, and emphasized Paul’s words from Romans 8.31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

His Holiness concluded his sermon with the good news “Christ is risen from the dead! Blessed is the resurrection of Christ!”
