Following the National General Assembly’s Religious and Lay Councils meetings, the Joint Assembly convened on Thursday, May 9th, 2019, under the presidency of His Holiness Aram I.
The Executive Council, comprised of 16 members from each Council, discussed issues pertaining the relations with the Republics of Armenia and Artsakh, and collaborations with Etchmiadzin, as well as reorganization of Prelacies, Catholicosate’s lawsuit for the return of the Catholicosate’s historical seat in Sis, “Nor Giligia” (New Cilicia) village in Artsakh established by the Catholicosate, revitalization of Syrian Armenian community, and the pan-Armenian media conference to be held in July, at the Catholicosate.
Following the proceedings and discussions, His Holiness delivered the closing remarks and emphasized the followings:
- The imperative of strengthening the collaboration between the Holy Sees and giving a new impetus to projects regarding strengthening Armenia and Artsakh
- The imperative of reorganizing the Armenian Diaspora and the Prelacies
The meeting was concluded with “Cilicia” anthem.
