29 September 2014. In the morning, upon his arrival in Athens, Catholicos Aram I held several meetings in his hotel with Greek officials in the presence of the Prelate and the President of the Church Council.

The Catholicos first received Kyriakos Metsotakis, Minister of Development. They discussed issues concerning the Armenian community in Greece. In response to His Holinessā request regarding the teachers in Armenian schools, the Minister promised to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Aram I then received Mr. Dimosthenes Davvetas, the personal representative of the prime minister, who shared matters related to GreeceĀ and the Middle East with the Catholicos.

After the meetings Catholicos Aram I spoke on Greek national radio about his visit to Greece, the situation in the Middle East, the Armenian community in Greece and the 100th anniversary commemoration of the Armenian Genocide.
