On Friday, April 19th, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received Dr. Louis Moreno Ocampo, Founder and Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (from 2003 to 2012).
During their meeting, they discussed issues related to recent Azerbaijan-Artsakh-Armenia relations, the Artsakh 2020 war, the Artsakh blockade, and the forced displacement of indigenous Armenians of Artsakh. They also explored the possibilities of presenting the case of the Armenians of Artsakh to the International Criminal Court in accordance with the International Law.
Mario Nalbandian, Vice-President of the Socialist International, accompanied Moreno Ocampo during the meeting.
Following the discussions, they were hosted for lunch by His Holiness.
It’s noteworthy that Dr. Moreno Ocampo is visiting the Catholicosate at the invitation of His Holiness. He is scheduled to deliver a lecture at the Catholicosate on Friday evening, and on Saturday morning, he will participate in the first session of the conference on Artsakh.
