Presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024, the final unction and funeral service for V. Rev. Fr. Yeghishe Mandjigian was conducted by HE Arch. Gomidas Ohanian, at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral, in Antelias.

During the eulogy, Arch. Gomidas quoted Colossians 1:25, emphasizing the dedicated service of the late father. He recounted Fr. Yeghishe’s admission day recalling his rendition of “Before a new Dawn” (Nor Lusapatsin Arevin Arach) and highlighted his lifelong service as a spiritual soldier of the Catholicosate of Cilicia. Fr. Yeghishe served silently with love and devotion, contributing to the well-being of the Armenian Church and embodying the teachings of the Bible.

The clergy, before transporting the body to the Zarehian Mausoleum of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, paid their respects by kissing the anointed forehead of the deceased. The Mausoleum the burial rites, blessing of the land, and interment ceremonies were held.

As the ceremony concluded, the brotherhood recited the Lord’s prayer and the “Cilicia” anthem.

Condolences were offered to His Holiness in the atrium of the Catholicosate.
