On Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received the Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani.
During the meeting, His Holiness referenced the discussions he had with Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Qatar approximately a month ago, following the latter’s invitation. Notably, Qatar plays a pivotal role in both the resolution of the Lebanese presidential election and the ongoing efforts to address the Gaza war.
His Holiness offered his perspectives on Lebanon, emphasizing the urgency of conducting the presidential election at the earliest opportunity. He also conveyed gratitude for the Qatari state’s benevolent stance towards the Armenian community in Qatar.
The ambassador reciprocated by updating His Holiness on the ongoing consultations concerning the presidential election.
Concluding the meeting, His Holiness Aram I presented a letter to the ambassador, intended for the Prime Minister of Qatar.
