Archbishop Souren Kataroyan passed away on December 17th, 2023, in Montreal. The final ceremony took place at Sourp Hagop Church in Montreal, with the blessing of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I and presided over and led by HE Arch. Papken Tcharian, the Prelate of Canada.

Per Arch. Souren’s wish, his body was transported to Antelias, where the funeral service, presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, took place on December 27th, 2023. The Zarehian Mausoleum hosted prayers for Arch. Souren and his final resting place is alongside his Cilician brethren in the cemetery.

Concluding the ceremony, the brotherhood recited the Lord’s prayer and the “Cilicia” anthem, while condolences were offered to His Holiness in the atrium of the Catholicosate.
