HIS HOLINESS CATHOLICOS ARAM I GIVES A PONTIFICAL VISIT TO NEW JERSEY

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I proceeded with his Pontifical visit to the Eastern Prelacy, arriving in New Jersey on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023.

 

The Catholicos and the pontifical delegation were warmly received in front of Sts. Vartanantz Church by Vicar General V. Rev. Fr. Sahag Yemishian, parish priests, church choirs, the Board of Trustees, and the faithful.

 

Following the solemn “Hrashapar” canonical prayer, the prelate, HE Arch. Anoushavan Tanielian welcomed His Holiness and invited him to deliver his pontifical message. In his address, Aram I stressed the pivotal role of faith in human life, underlining that it establishes a vital connection between individuals and God. His Holiness encouraged the faithful to renew their faith through active participation in the communal life of the church. The ceremony was followed by a reception held in the church hall, where the faithful received the blessing of the Catholicos.

 

The following morning, on Wednesday, November 15th, His Holiness convened with representatives of Armenian organizations and associations in New Jersey. During this meeting, he underscored the importance of close cooperation among sister organizations, expressing warm appreciation for their efforts and wishing them continued success.

 

Continuing his visit, His Holiness visited the Hovnanian School, where he was welcomed by the principal, teachers, students, and parents. The students, in honor of His Holiness, presented a showcase. In his address, His Holiness reminisced about the school’s construction decades ago, highlighting the crucial role of Armenian schools in the Armenian life. He emphasized the unique and special role assigned to Armenian schools in preserving the Armenian identity.
