During his pontifical visit to the Armenian Prelacy of the Eastern United States, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I and his pontifical delegation paid visits to the embassies of Lebanon and Armenia in Washington, DC.
At the Lebanese embassy, His Excellency Wael Hashem and the embassy staff warmly welcomed the Catholicos and the delegation. Their discussions primarily revolved around concerns regarding Lebanon and the recent Israeli airstrikes in the southern region of Lebanon.
Meanwhile, at the Armenian embassy, Her Excellency Lilit Makunts received His Holiness and the delegation. Initially, a private meeting took place between His Holiness and the ambassador, followed by a more comprehensive gathering. The discussions covered various topics, including matters related to Artsakh, the challenges faced by Armenia, the resettlement of Artsakh refugees in Armenia, and Armenia–diaspora relations.
