THE THIRD OF THE CONSULTATION SESSIONS DEDICATED TO ARTSAKH

On Monday, October 30th, 2023, the third of the online sessions dedicated to Artsakh, presided by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, was held.

The group of experts from Armenia, Artsakh, and the diaspora discussed the potential ramifications deriving from the rapidly changing geopolitical situation surrounding the Artsakh issue. Their discussions encompassed a wide range of topics, such as recent statements given by the President of Artsakh, the implications of statements related to the Zangezur Corridor project, the principles outlined in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace deals, as well as the Armenian diaspora’s role in all these aspects.

His Holiness emphasized the need to create a pan-Armenian agenda and establish a fresh strategy to foster coordination among the key components of the Armenian-Artsakh-Diaspora unity, which is currently lacking.

The upcoming online session, scheduled for November 5, will encompass the notes of the Catholicos mentioned above.

His Holiness stressed the importance of regularly conducting these meetings and stated that the Catholicosate will organize in-person two-day sessions soon.

Notably, the group of specialists include Ashod Melkonian, Rupen Safrasdian, Armen Maroukian, Vahram Palayan, Vicken Cheterian, Simon Payaslian, Vahram Shammasian, Khatchig Der Ghougasian, Nora Bayrakdarian, Shahan Kandaharian, and Aharon Shekherdemian serving as the secretary.
