THE FEAST OF THE HOLY TRANSLATORS AND THE INAUGURATION OF THE 2023-2024 ACADEMIC YEAR OF THE ARMENIAN THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

The Feast of the Holy Translators was marked at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral, in Antelias on Sunday, October 15th, 2023, through a Divine Liturgy, presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I and celebrated by the Dean of the Armenian Theological Seminary, V. Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian. Following the Liturgy, the pontifical procession proceeded to the main atrium of the Catholicosate, where the commencement of the academic year of the Seminary was officially celebrated with a special ceremony, organized by the seminarians, alongside a pontifical address. The Ceremony was attended by priests, teachers, donors, parents, and the faithful.

In his pontifical address, His Holiness underscored the essence of the translation work of the Holy Translators, who brought the presence of God into the lives of the Armenians in their mother tongue while providing a firm foundation to rely on when facing enemies. Subsequently, His Holiness emphasized the importance of nurturing a generation that upholds the vision of the Holy Translators, serving God, the church, and the nation. Furthermore, he commended the efforts of the dean’s office, faculty, donors, and all those supporting the Seminary’s mission. The Catholicos concluded his message with a prayer asking for God’s blessings over the Armenian Theological Seminary.
