On Thursday, August 24th, 2023, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received representatives of Nabih Berri, the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, composed of the deputy head of Amal Movement, Sheikh Hasan Al-Masri, and Sayyed Abbas Nasr Al-Deen.
The main topics of the meeting were the delayed Lebanese presidential election and the case of blockaded Artsakh by Azerbaijan.
His Holiness Aram I stressed the importance of conducting the election without further delay, especially considering the socio-economic degradation in Lebanon and its calamities on the people.
Regarding the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh due to the over nine months of blockade by Azerbaijan, the representatives of Nabih Berri shared the concern of His Holiness and expressed their solidarity with the indigenous Armenians of Artsakh.
