On June 11th, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered his message at St. Maty Church in Toronto and was assisted by HE Arch. Papken Tcharian and HG Bp. Torkom Donoyan.
As June 10 marked the Feast of St. Gregory the Illuminator’s deliverance from the pit [khor virab], His Holiness referenced the life and mission of St. Gregory the Illuminator—the patron saint of the Armenian Church—and shed light on the spiritual revolution the saint had brought to Armenia. He reminded the congregation that even in dire situations in Armenian history, such as the Armenian Genocide of 1915, Armenians have always turned to their faith in God, and subsequently, he urged all Armenians to follow the example of our patron saint and be armored by the power of God, especially during these dark days in Armenia and Artsakh.
