The High Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, visited His Holiness Catholicos Aram I on Friday, March 10th, 2023.
During the two-hour visit, Sinanyan briefed His Holiness on his recent tour of the Armenian Communities, outlined his assessments, and underlined the imperative of further strengthening the Armenia-Diaspora relations.
In turn, the Catholicos offered an overview of the challenges facing Armenians, chiefly the right of self-determination of Artsakh Armenians, negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the situation in Armenia, and Armenia-Diaspora relations. The Catholicos stressed that national unity is an urgent imperative achieved only through rebuilding mutual trust and prioritizing the salvation of Armenia and Artsakh.
At the end of the meeting, His Holiness extended to Zareh Sinanyan a written memorandum of his views, concerns, and suggestions.
