On Tuesday, February 6th, 2023, the president of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan held a phone conversation with His Holiness Catholicos Aram I and briefed him on the humanitarian and socioeconomic crises in Artsakh due to the Lachin corridor blockade by Azerbaijan, and on the efforts of the authorities.

In turn, His Holiness reaffirmed his solidarity with the Artsakh people. He underlined that besides the continuous raising of prayers to God for the protection of the indigenous people of Artsakh in these hardships, the Catholicosate continues its efforts to support Artsakh Armenians during these adversities.

President Harutyunyan also expressed his deep sorrow over the earthquake that shook Syria and conveyed the solidarity of the Artsakh Armenians with the Armenian community in Syria.Ā
