The Qatari ambassador to Lebanon Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Sahlawi visited His Holiness Catholicos Aram I on Wednesday afternoon, February 1st, 2023. During the two-hour meeting, they discussed matters related to the mission of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, the current situation in Lebanon, the Lebanese presidential election, and the Armenian Community in Qatar.

In attendance at the meeting were Bishop Mesrob Sarkissian—Prelate of the UAE, Qatar and neighboring countries—and Krikor Mahseredjian—co-Chair of the Lay Council of the Central Council of the Holy See of Cilicia.

His Holiness expressed his high commendation for Qatar’s positive role in interreligious dialogue and the Middle East. Finally, the Catholicos extended a letter to the ambassador addressed to the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
