On January 26th, 2023, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received Dr. Michel Abs, the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches, accompanied by Ms. Seta Hadeshian, Associate General-Secretary, and Dr. Jean Salmanian, member of the Executive Council.
The aim of the visit was to consult with His Holiness on a number of issues relating to the MECC. On this occasion, His Holiness urged the MECC to exert a more influential role in the region and expand the scope of its work with both the churches and the Muslim communities, as well as to give special attention to the programs that contribute to the educational and social agenda of church.
