On November 28^th and 29^th, 2022, the Executive Committee of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) held in person meeting for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic, in Deir Saydet al Bir in Bkennaya, Lebanon. V. Rev. Fr. Sarkis Aprahamian and Dr. Jean Salmanian attended the meeting on behalf of the Holy See of Cilicia, while H.E. Archbihsop Sebouh Sarkisian’s absence was excused.

During the two-day conference, the Executive Committee discussed issues related to the structure and the mission of the MECC, the half-yearly report, which was presented by General Secretary Dr. Michel Abs, matters concerning the program, administrative work, financial reports and cooperation with other organizations. A plenary session was also dedicated to matters pertaining to the youth.

The meeting also endorsed the appointment of the three Associate General-Secretaries from Catholic, Evangelical and Orthodox families. With the blessing of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Ms. Seta Hadeshian, from the Armenian Church, was appointed as Associate General Secretary representing the Eastern Orthodox Family.
