On Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I and the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, held a phone conversation during which Harutyunyan briefed His Holiness on the unfolding situation in Artsakh due to the Lachin corridor blockade by Azerbaijan and the efforts towards preventing the worsening of the humanitarian crisis. 

In turn, His Holiness reaffirmed his support to the Artsakh people and communicated to the president the efforts made thus far by the Catholicosate of Cilicia and its prelacies, and the prospective work for the sake of reopening the corridor, and prayed to God that Artsakh and its indigenous people are protected during this hardship.
