PRO ORIENTE and the Institute for Ecumenical Studies of the Angelicum organized an international ecumenical conference entitled “Listening to the East” with the purpose of exploring the synodal traditions within the different Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches. The conference was held at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), in Rome on November 22-27, 2022. On behalf of the Armenian Church, Catholicosate of Cilicia, Deacon Garen Yosulkanian participated in the conference.

Deacon Garen presented a report on the participation of the Armenian youth in church life, and the scope of their duties and rights. During the conference, reports were presented on the impact of the Armenian World Assembly and the National constitution on the participation of laypeople in church administration.
