THE RELIGIOUS COUNCIL OF THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE CONVENES IN ANTELIAS

Presided by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, On Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, the Religious Council of the Central Committee convened, chaired by H.E. Arch. Oshagan Choloyan and H.E. Arch. Nareg Alemezian.

 

The key discussions revolved around the Theological Seminary, Christian education, social services, ecumenical and inter-religious relations, rites and rituals, translation of the Bible into Western Armenian, the HASK periodical and the parish priest formation curriculum. Reports were read on the Birdsā€™ Nest Orphanage and Information and Communication Department, and discussions related to youth programs and to reviewing of ritual ceremonies were held. For every session, appropriate decisions were taken.

 

His Holiness expressed his high commend for the consistent work of the Council and the priests on duties, despite the challenges caused by the pandemic. He especially underlined the importance of Christian education and social services and encouraged the prelates to focus the priority of their activities in the prelacies to these two domains.

 

The Central Committee will continue its meetings in the coming days. The Lay Council of the Central Committee will convene tomorrow while the Joint Council will convene the day after tomorrow.
