On Saturday evening, December 5th, 2020, a Cilician Brotherhood gathering was held in the hall of Cilicia Museum, in the presence of His Holiness Aram I, to discuss topics related to a) religion and science, and b) faith and religion.

During this gathering, 5 Cilician brothers: V. Rev. Fr. Ardag Arabian, V. Rev. Fr. Hrant Tahanian, V. Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, V. Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian and V. Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, who had returned from their studies in higher education over the past few years in the United States of America, Canada, Australia and Switzerland, presented their papers on the above-mentioned themes.

The gathering was concluded by His Holiness’ remarks. He commended each presenter’s approach to tackle the themes, and stressed that the centuries old battle between religion and science should be replaced with dialogue that serves the progress of humankind. The Catholicos also shared his experience in the academia, as a student and professor, and compared different types of education systems. Finally, he reiterated that any education finds its value when used for service and in mission.
