5 April 2016. Since the beginning of recent aggressions on Nagorno Karabagh, His Holiness Aram I has been in regular contact with the authorities in Armenia and Karabagh, as well as His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II. The two Catholicoi have agreed to coordinate their initiatives.

On Tuesday morning, representatives of the three Armenian political parties, the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Tashnak Party) and Armenian Liberal Democratic Party (Ramgavar Azadakan Gousagtsoutiun), met with His Holiness Aram I and discussed actions in support of Nagorno Karabagh. After listening to them, Catholicos Aram I recommended the following:

First, any act of solidarity should also express the unity of Armenians in Armenia, Karabagh and the Diaspora.
Second, media coverage should be enhanced and should accompany military strategic planning to counter false propaganda.
Third, Armenian communities everywhere should advocate for justice and counter misinformation by adopting context sensitive strategies.
