Antelias – On the occasion of the visit of Pope Francis I to the Holy Land, King Abdullah of Jordan invited the religious leaders in the region to join him in welcoming the pope. His Holiness Aram I was represented by Archbishop Nareg Alemezian, Locum Tenens of the Catholicosate of Cilicia and Director of Ecumenical Relations.

On 24 May, Archbishop Alemezian took part in the welcoming ceremony organized by the King at his palace. On this occasion Archbishop Nareg also met H.B. Patriarch Nourhan Manoukian, who was a member of the delegation of heads of churches from Jerusalem.
