On the occasion of declaring 2019 the Year of the Armenian Media, consultation sessions with a group of prominent Armenian journalists were held in Antelias preparing for the Pan-Armenian conference on Media to be held in Antelias in April 2019.

Present at the first meeting were the President of the Union of Journalists of Armenia Satik Seyranyan, the Director of Noyan Tapan News/Analytical Center and the President of All-Armenian Media Association Tikran Harutyunyan, the Editor-in-Chief of Aztag Daily Shahan Kandaharian, the Editor-in-Chief of Zartonk Daily Sevag Hagopian, Editor in Ararad Daily Avedis Poshoghlian, Chancellor of the Catholicosate of Cilicia Khatchig Dedeyan, the Director of the Educational-Armenological Department at the Catholicosate Jirayr Tanielian and the Director of the Information and Communication Department at the Catholicosate V. Rev. Bedros Manuelian.

His Holiness Aram I presided over the meeting and stated the importance of the Armenian media and listed the functions that would recontextualize the Armenian media’s mission under present circumstances of the Armenian communities.

The meeting also talked about the forthcoming agenda of the Pan-Armenian conference on the Armenian Media.
