The library of the Catholicosate was founded by Catholicos-Coadjutor Papken I, in 1932. During the 1915 Armenian Genocide and subsequently the deportations from Sis, members of the Brotherhood of the Catholicosate of Cilicia succeeded in bringing with them limited number of manuscripts and old-print books. madenIn response to the appeal of His Holiness Papken I, Armenian printing houses, bookstores and individuals donated valuable books and periodicals to the library. Gradually the collection of the library was enriched and today has more than 80 thousand books, periodicals, dictionaries, and encyclopedias in Armenian and other languages, with a special section reserved for the old-print books.

All the books are being digitally catalogued.

The library is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.

The director of the Library is Archbishop Dirayr Panossian.
