Lay and Religious Councils of the Central Council of the Catholicosate, Prelates and Chairs of the Diocesan Executive Councils Convened in Antelias

From March 12th to 15th, 2024, the Lay and Religious Councils of the Central Council of the Catholicosate, the prelates of the Holy See of Cilicia, and chairs of the Catholicosateā€™s diocesan executive councils convened in Antelias, presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I.

During the meetings, reports from various departments and committees were reviewed, with a particular emphasis on addressing each agenda item with care, especially focusing on the reorganization and revitalization of the diaspora. On the fourth day of the assembly, His Holiness held special meetings with the representatives of the dioceses of the Holy See of Cilicia.

In his concluding remarks, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I emphasized the urgent need for diaspora reorganization and stressed the importance of taking immediate action, focusing on feasibility. He highlighted that the reorganization of dioceses should serve as an example for broader diaspora reorganization efforts. Additionally, His Holiness provided an update on the Catholicosate’s commitment to supporting the rights of the people of Artsakh. He affirmed ongoing efforts to engage with genocide scholars and influential figures in international justice to facilitate the release of the abducted military and political leadership of Artsakh and prisoners of war through various international channels. Concrete steps toward this goal will be announced shortly.
