On Tuesday 17 December 2013, Leila Riyad Solh, accompanied by the Director of the Foundation Walid Bin Talal and Armenian Member of Parliament Hagop Pakradouni, met with His Holiness Aram I.

After Catholicos Aram I’s welcome, Vice President Mrs Leila Riyad Solh discussed the educational and humanitarian activities of the Foundation in Lebanon. His Holiness expressed his appreciation for the support that the Foundation gives those in need irrespective of religious or cultural differences. He then mentioned the support of her father to the Armenian community when he was the first Prime Minister of independent Lebanon. H.E. Riyad Solh often visited the Catholicosate of Cilicia from 1945 to 1951, expressing several times his concern for the community.

In recognition of the work of the Walid Bin Talal Foundation in Lebanon, His Holiness Aram I gave a special gift to Vice-President Leila Riyad Solh. In thanking the Catholicos for his activities in interfaith relations and contributing towards the cohesion of Lebanese society, Ms. Leila Riyad Solh promised to continue her support to the Armenian community.
