On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received the newly appointed Ambassador of Greece to Lebanon, Despina Koukoulopoulou.

His Holiness briefed the ambassador on the mission and structure of the Holy See of Cilicia, addressing the current situation in Lebanon, focusing on the economic crisis and efforts toward the presidential election. He also discussed his pontifical visit to the Diocese of Greece last year and meetings with the Prime Minister and the head of the Greek Orthodox Church.

In turn, Ambassador Koukoulopoulou informed His Holiness about the current policy of the Greek government, both generally in the Middle East and specifically in Lebanon.
