On Thursday, January 4th, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I received the newly appointed French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro.
During the meeting, they discussed the Lebanese presidential election, the war on Gaza by Israel, and France’s broader role in the Middle East, with a specific focus on its involvement in Lebanon.
As Ambassador Magro was born in Turkey and had previously served as an ambassador in his country of birth, the discussions also extended to the Armenian-Turkish relations, exploring the historical connections between France and the Armenian people. Furthermore, the meeting addressed France’s solidarity with Armenia and Artsakh and the Armenian cause.
