On Monday, May 16th, 2022, His Holiness Aram I departed to Cairo, Egypt, at the invitation of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), to participate in the MECC 12th General Assembly as a guest of honor and deliver his message.

The Holy See of Cilicia is participating in this quadrennial conference with a five-member delegation: Arch. Sebouh Sarkissian (Prelate of Tehran); Arch. Shahe Panossian (Prelate of Lebanon), Bishop Massis Zoboyan (Prelate of Syria); V. Rev. Fr. Sarkis Aprahamian (Staff Bearer of the Catholicos); and Dr. Jean Salmanian (Lecturer at USJ).
