Following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, December 19th, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I decorated Dr. Hrayr Jebejian —writer and General Secretary of the Bible Society in the Gulf— with the “St. Mesrob Mashdots” Insignia, at the Main Hall of the Catholicosate, in Antelias.
The welcoming remarks were addressed by the director of the Armenological Department at the Catholicosate Aharon Shekherdemian. Subsequently, His Holiness Aram I delivered his speech, stressing that a human being is valued not with what he owns but with what he offers through service to God, church, and the people. Speaking about the honoree, His Holiness stated that Dr. jebejian has served through his input in literature, in particular through his editorial work in Bibles for kids and adults. Jebejian is also a public writer and has left an important mark in the Armenian media.
Consequently, the Pontifical Encyclical was read and His Holiness decorated Dr. Jebejian, who expressed his filial gratitude at the end of the ceremony.
