On Tuesday, August 31st, 2021, a consultation meeting on humanitarian assistance to our community in Lebanon was held between H.E. Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian – Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy of the USA, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan – Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the USA, and H.E. Archbishop Shaheh Panossian – Prelate of Lebanon, in the presence of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, at St. Mary Monastery, in Bikfaya.
His Holiness Aram I briefed the prelates on the dire situation in Lebanon, especially concerning the scarcity of basic necessities such as food and medicines, as well as underlined the importance of providing securing support. The Prelates, alongside their unconditional support to the people of Lebanon, offered their suggestions and proposals. His Holiness recommended a meeting of the Executive Council of the Armenian Prelacy of Lebanon and its Social Services committee with the prelates.
It is noteworthy that His Holiness had recently called upon the Prelacies of the USA to organize fundraisers and invited the Prelates to the Catholicosate in Antelias to further the aid and humanitarian consultations in this regard.
