His Holiness Aram I Decorates Mr. Zaven Missirlian with the Insignia of St. Mesrob Mashdotz

23 February 2014, following the Holy Liturgy and the Memorial Service, the clergy and the faithful gathered at the Main Hall of the Catholicosate where His Holiness Aram I honored the committed educator and man of letters, Zaven Missirlian.

Mr. Jirair Tanielian traced the life of Zaven Missirlian and described him as a dedicated teacher of Armenian Youth.

In his message, His Holiness Aram I said that Zaven Missirlian is not only an educator, but also a writer and a prolific researcher. “Today,” he concluded, “we are enriched by his literary criticism, his works on Armenian political thought and by the findings of his research on the Armenian Genocide.”

After Rev. Torkom Donoyan read the Pontifical letter, His Holiness Aram I decorated Zaven Missirlian with the Insignia of St. Mesrob Mashdotz. The gathering ended with the Zaven Missirlian’s words of appreciation.
