The Holy See of Cilicia Participates in the International Armenological Congress

On Friday, July 19th, the opening of the International Armenological Congress, organized by the Mesrob Mashdots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts–“Matenadaran,” took place with the participation of H.E. Arch. Shahan Sarkissian—Director of the Cilicia Library and the Ancient Manuscript Department at the Catholicosate—and V. Rev. Fr. Dajad Ashekian—the Chancellor of the Catholicosate, with the blessing of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I.

During the event, a book fair and expo of manuscripts were organized, which included recent publications of the Catholicosate in Armenian studies. In parallel, the presentation of the “Hasg Hayakidagan,” the Armenological publication of the Catholicosate, took place. The recent volume of “Hasg Hayakidagan” is dedicated to the 850th commemoration of the passing of St. Nerses the Gracious and was presented by researcher Elya Saripegian at the event. Haig Hampartsumian—senior researcher and Head of the Publishing House “Matenadaran”—and Vahe Torossian—Deputy Director of Scientific Affairs gave their addresses, and Arch. Shahan also addressed the audience.
