Three Seminarians Ordained as Deacons During Divine Liturgy

Presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, three seminarians—Minas Jansezian, Hovhannes Baydounian, and Kevork Yacoubian—were ordained as deacons during the Sunday Divine Liturgy on June 9, 2024. The ordination ceremony was conducted by H.E. Shahan Sarkissian, with V. Rev. Fr. Kevork Karageozian serving as the sponsoring priest.

During the ceremony, the candidates ascended the altar on their knees while the officiating priest offered prayers to God, seeking heavenly wisdom for the newly ordained. The candidates were then vested with the right to wear a stole on the left shoulder, read the Gospel, and administer the censer during the Divine Liturgy.

Following the ordination, Archbishop Shahan delivered a sermon emphasizing the importance of using the graces bestowed by the Holy Spirit to serve the Lord and the church.

After the liturgy, the three new deacons, along with the acolytes and sub-deacons ordained a week earlier, met with His Holiness Aram I to receive his blessings, accompanied by the officiating priest.
